| Introduction:
Purchasing software has always been difficult, or confusing -
too many choices. Try one simple rule and that is, firstly
define what you require of a software package, do you need
something simple or do you want a program that delivers a little
more? Can you download the program and try it before you buy it?
Is it right for me? Is it too costly? Is it too cheap? Henry
Ford (Founder of the Ford Motor Company) once said, "You
can have any car so long as it is black". Times have changed, choices can make a purchase seem difficult, focus on what you
really need and can afford. I have looked at many of the dog
breeding programs available on the internet - all have their
merits and all require a degree of user understanding to get the
most out of the software. Authors of these software programs
have worked very hard to create these computer programs, so give
them some constructive feedback as encouragement will always
drive them on to developing better programs for you- the end
user.

which program should I choose?

I wrote this program quite a
few years ago, (as an aid for breeders of pedigree dogs)
because I found that most breeders did not keep adequate
records, sifting through old shoe boxes looking for pedigree
certificates and not being able to reproduce a copy. I
saw a need, and so Sibrun's "Kennel Management" program was
born. |

As mentioned
before, Sibrun's "Kennel Management Program" program is TEXT
based. What this means is that the files created by this
program are simply text, with different file extensions. For
example files in the making of the pedigree certificates,
the files created have a file extension name of .ped. All
files are located
"C:\Sibrun\My Breed Files" directory.
Sibrun's "Kennel
Management Program" reads these files line by line and
inserts the information into relative blank boxes on the
Pedigree page of the program. Breeders can email files on
selected dogs without sending the recipients all their
private information. |
The program can calculate
mating dates, whelping dates, pups at 8 weeks and
immunisation dates

This was our greatest challenge
yet, to create a pedigree program that could handle several
breeds in the one database, include a photo of each dog, the
ability to search and filter records, create many different
reports including pedigree certificates, create watermark
picture files to be used in the pedigree certificates, full
data base backup and restore, a data base version of Sibrun's
breeding calendar, 20 different background changes plus much
more in a program that is easily used.

easily shared you can email reports to other users/
breeders. So long as they own a licensed version of
Sibrun's "All Breeds Premium Pedigree Builder" |
