Gecko's are found all over Bali and are cute little guy's that have a very strong grip. You will find them outside and at times , inside your hotel room no matter what the rating is. They eat mainly insects and are therefore great in helping keep down the mosquito population. The best place to find them is outside at night around your exterior ceiling or wall light's , searching for dinner. ( bugs) The most common are about 3 - 6 inches in length but there is an uncommon one that grows to around a foot. ( in 14 trips to Bali I have only seen one. )
 Don't be afraid of these critters as they are timid little lizards that will shy away from you as soon as you head in their direction. Instead , sit back relax and have a long cool drink while you watch these guys knock down the bug population. |
