Rotorvane Anemometer, Marine Applications

Raymarine is the world leader in marine electronics. Raymarine develops and manufactures a comprehensive range of electronic equipment for the recreational boating and light commercial marine markets.

Raymarine uses Rotorvane technology under licence in their "Rotavecta" wind sensor.

One-time America's Cup hopeful "Kookaburra" is fitted with a Rotavecta wind sensor.

This sensor has about half the number of parts as a traditional vane-plus-rotor sensor, and a single wire pair connects the sensor at the masthead to the display unit forward of the helmsman.

Weight aloft is thus kept to a minimum, improving sailing performance.

"Fearless" is Victoria Police's largest vessel and is used for search and rescue in the very demanding waters of Australia's Bass Strait.

The compact construction of the Rotavecta sensor fits neatly within the host of antennae, lights and other devices on the Christmas Tree.

The low parts count of the Rotavecta sensor improves reliability, in this application potentially a life saving benefit.

Adamant

This Adams 10.6 is fitted with a Rotavecta wind sensor.  Minimum weight, good accuracy, high reliability and competitive pricing makes the Rotavecta an excellent choice for both cruising and racing.
