REALTIME CONTROL
RV229 Anemometer Adapter
Users Manual
1. Introduction
The RV229
Anemometer Adapter decodes the signal from
a Raymarine Rotavecta
transducer.
Depending on how it is connected it either:
- outputs current wind speed and
direction in analog,
pulse or serial form, suitable for connection to devices such as PLCs,
DCSs, data loggers, PCs and web servers, or
- logs wind speed and direction
distributions in forms suited to wind power site analysis, or
- responds to commands delivered to its serial port to download logged
data, clear logged data or reset its operating coefficients.
The RV229 connects to the transducer by means of spade connectors which
match those fitted to the transducer downlead. All other connections to
the RV229 are made via its DE9 socket.
The RV229 can be plugged directly into a PC serial port. When thus
connected the RV229 draws its and the transducer's operating current
from the serial port. It communicates with the PC in standard ASCII and
delivers data in csv file format.
When the RV229 is used to output analog or pulse signals or to log wind
data it must be plugged in to to a mating DE9 plug, wired to suit.
