3. Real time pulse frequency connection
The RV229 can output speed and/or direction in pulse frequency
form.
Connect the transducer to the RV229.
Use a DE9/DB9 plug to connect to the RV229, and on this:
Use shielded cable to connect the Speed
and Direction pins to
the DCS, PLC or datalogger I/O module. Connect the shield from V- to
the - terminal on the I/O module. Connect the core from Speed and/or
Direction to corresponding + terminal(s) on the I/O module.
Leave the Serial in and Serial out pins floating, ie. connect nothing
to them.
Connect a battery or power supply capable of delivering in the range
3.7 V DC to 30.0 V DC
@ 4 mA to V- and V+.
Connect this plug to the RV229.
The RV229's LED should flash once per
rotor revolution.
