Atomic Theory and HISTORICAL MODELS of atoms

wait..loading

For many years, matter was assumed to be made of small, indivisible, particles called ATOMS.
Near the end of the nineteenth century, it was found that atoms were not indivisible,
but contained both POSITIVE particles, and NEGATIVE particles.

Scientists such as J.J. Thomson and Lord Rutherford in Cambridge, and Neils Bohr in Denmark,
using results of experiments which had been carried out, put forward various MODELS for the stucture of an atom.
These historical models can be seen by clicking on an item listed below.

Contents: Plum pudding model...... Nuclear model...... Orbital model
Hydrogen atom.... Deuterium atom.... Helium atom---- Lithium atom.... Beryllium atom.... Boron atom
